General Information
I am told that I have LARGE hands and indeed can never find gloves that fit. This pen is most often described as "masculine". It is thicker than most pocket style pens, and as such it has a very comfortable feel for me. So I would classify the pocket style pen as best suited to large handed men or anyone who has trouble with arthritis or other hand afflictions. Oops, I forgot that nurses and doctors prefer this ballpoint pen - why I don't know; but they do.
While a common or exotic wood are often used to craft artisan pens; we like the look that can only be achieved through burled or rayed woods. So whether our burls and woods come from dry Australian stream beds, the swamps of Wisconsin, the coast of the Pacific Northwest; or from Africa; you can be assured of conversational piece of wood being used in your artisan pen.
We have been crafting artisan writing instruments for well over a decade. And during that time we have discovered that people do not use strangely shaped pens. So we craft our pens to the traditional shapes and then we use an eleven step finishing process. While a cloth buffing will often restore a dull finish, eventually even our durable finishes will be worn away to the bare wood.
Another couple of tips after years of selling pens. Close to 80% of ladies prefer dark colored woods; while men are evenly divided on their light vs dark colored wood preferences. Thick pens are better writing instruments for people with sore, arthritic, or crippled hands. If you have to write through multiple copies then purchase a ball point pen. We find that artistic, poetic, or romantically inclined people prefer fountain pens. While the rest of the world loves the smooth flowing but non-running ink of the rollerball pen. Lastly, remember that you can actually buy ink refills in almost any color of the rainbow. So have fun and enjoy your pen!
