    GREAT MATCHED PAIR of WWII Japanese Army Officer's Gold Military/Patriotic Saki Cups, Marine Bring-Back Souvenir From Pacific Combat

    ESCRIPTION:
    Scans show it all.....(please forgive the light reflection distortion of the detail of my pictures) a very nice early Japanese item brought home by a Marine veteran from WWII. Nicely made out of fine ceramic, with gold painted National & Battle flags as shown. Also, lots of kanji characters, also in gold. Some of the gold shows a little wear from use, but overall very nice.
    The larger, earlier type. Not identical, but they certainly match and probably came from the same set. Trimmed in white on the bottom, and excellent Japanese Kanji and gold painted items.  A GREAT PATRIOTIC/MILITARY MARINE SOUVENIR FOR YOUR COLLECTION!!! Such fancy gold paint indicates that they were early, probably pre-war, during the campaigns against China. And I'm sure they were kept and used right into and through WWII.
    In excellent condition overall, and a great, matching pair!! Only a couple of very tiny chips on the edge. Identical size and design and similar decoration. Approximately 3" diameter x 1 1/4" high.
    A nice pair, that will make a great display or addition to your collection! Very fancy and nicely made for military officer use.
